Welcome to the CERF Southern Border Region Collaborative!
Welcome to the Community Economic Resilience Fund (CERF) Collaborative for the Southern Border Region. This region consists of representatives from both San Diego and Imperial Valley, working together to develop a proposal that supports new plans and strategies to diversify both local economies and develop sustainable industries that create high-quality jobs. The winning proposal will receive a $5 million, two-year planning grant making the region eligible to compete for $500 million in implementation grants.
CERF at its heart is a once-in-a-generation chance to create a vision for this Southern Border Region's future and to learn how San Diego and Imperial can work more closely together to benefit each other.
The focus is really on community development, engagement with those who haven’t been engaged in the past, and creating more equity between the valley’s haves and have-nots. The proposal will be developed through three planning tables, which will be inclusive and focused on ensuring the outcomes create equity in all ways.
